Business & Finance Awards Programme launches Business for Good Initiative

The Business & Finance Awards, hosted in association with KPMG,  have announced a new Business for Good initiative with the objective of engaging charities with corporates and corporates with charities

Ireland’s longest-running International Irish business awards, the Business & Finance Awards, has announced the launch of a new Business for Good initiative – which will seek to provide charities and ‘not-for-profit’ social enterprises with greater access to the appropriate corporations at the highest level through the Business & Finance Awards programme, which is now in its 44th year.

The initiative includes a range of access and strategic value elements each year comprising both charity/corporation engagement through the programme’s activities, as well as recognising the most effective Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives from corporations and charities. In addition it will help assist charities with strategic communications and engagement strategies to secure and execute the most appropriate corporate partnerships.

The 2018 Business & Finance Business for Good Programme has created the Elevation Scholarship which will select and fund students with a Social Enterprise Entrepreneurial focus annually through the awards programme.

Enterprise Ireland partners with Business & Finance Awards to support new for fast-growing companies 

It was also was announced that Enterprise Ireland will partner a new category as part of the Business & Finance Awards in association with KPMG. This new award will recognise Irish companies that are fast-growing and with significant potential to continue to scale globally, focused on Irish companies of up to €500m market capitalisation. The Award will compliment the well-established Company of the Year Award which recognises Irish companies above this market cap threshold. The inaugural Elevation Award nominees will be released at the end of October in advance of a judging process which will take place in November to select the ultimate winner. The award will be presented by Julie Sinnamon, CEO Enterprise Ireland, as part of the Business & Finance Awards, in association with KPMG.

The Business & Finance Awards also hosts the FDI of the Year in partnership with IDA Ireland and this award will be presented by Martin Shanahan CEO IDA Ireland.

CEO 100 and Business & Finance 100 to be honoured at Awards 

In addition to the Business & Finance Awards programme, the 2018 CEO 100 and Business & Finance 100, an index of the top CEOs and businesses operating in Ireland will be included in the Roll of Honour at the Awards gala dinner to showcase the calibre of outstanding business and leadership across the community. Additionally both indices will be included in the Business & Finance 100 edition which will be circulated to the 1000 business, political and social leaders attending on the night.

Business & Finance Awards 2018 honourees

Former President of the European Commission and Business & Finance Honouree José Manuel Barroso

The Business & Finance Awards in association with KPMG are Ireland’s foremost Irish business awards, running for the last four decades. The 2018 honourees include former President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso, who will receive the inaugural Sutherland Leadership Award, former President of Ireland Mary McAleese, who will be honoured with the TK Whitaker Award, along with Irish Rugby Team Head Coach Joe Schmidt who will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Brand Ireland Award.

Previous honourees include President Clinton, Sir John Major, Mary Robinson, Kofi Annan, Sen George Mitchell, Sir Bob Geldof, former Taoiseach Enda Kenny, and President of Ireland Michael D Higgins.
