50 new Dublin jobs announced by EVO Payments

EVO Payments is to hire 50 new staff in Ireland, which will bring its workforce to 120 by the end of 2017.

The jobs come along with the announcement of €9m investment in a new Dun Laoghaire headquarters.

The full-time positions will be in sales and marketing, customer support and administration.

The international payments company has a successful track record establishing strong relationships and its partner relationships are comprised of companies from different industries and different parts of the value chain, operating locally as well as internationally.

The company came to Ireland in 2014 and works in partnership with Bank of Ireland to offer card point of sale and online payment solutions for Irish businesses.

Debit card spend in Ireland last year was over €30bn, a 20% increase on the previous year. Total card spend in Ireland is over €40bn with an additional €13bn spent online.

Contactless technology allows customers to quickly and securely pay for items that cost €30 or less. A 2016 BOI Payment Acceptance survey found that over 50% of debit and credit card owners use contactless payment when paying for goods and services.
