Drinks manufacturers and exporters Robert A Merry & Co. has announced a series of investments in its production and warehousing facilities and in its flagship brand, Merrys Irish Cream Liqueur.

The company has invested €2.5m in the last year in new warehousing, refurbishments and an additional bottling line which increases the company’s total hourly bottling capacity to 15,500 units.

It provides bottling services for leading Irish whiskey and gin brands and also develops and supplies a range of products to leading global retailer groups such as Aldi, Walmart, Tesco, Duty Free America and Cost Plus World Market.

First produced in 1994, Merrys Irish Cream Liqueurs are now exported to over 20 countries worldwide

The company has recently won a tender to supply its Merrys White Chocolate Liqueur to the official state-run liquor chain of 346 shops in Sweden.

“Whilst we owe a lot of our success over the last 21 years to the craftsmanship and passion of the team of 38 people who are working here in Clonmel to produce Merrys, there is no doubt that, above all, it is the quality of our ingredients and the freshness of our rich Irish dairy cream that makes Merrys so special,” said Don Crowley, general manager, Merrys.

“We are lucky enough to be able to bottle cream from grass-fed cows that graze in our lush valley region in small batches within hours of it leaving the farm gate, and to have access to the finest aged Irish whiskey to give it that special taste profile.”
