RTÉ director general Dee Forbes has been confirmed as the special honouree at the 2016 Business & Finance CEO 100 event – a night that highlights the 100 most influential CEOs in Ireland – on October 18th at The Marker Hotel.

From the success of emerging enterprises that are blazing a trail, to the longevity and substance of well-established firms, Ireland’s CEOs and the companies they lead are displaying top-level innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit indicative of our national character. The Business & Finance CEO 100 edition honours the most influential and innovative CEOs in Ireland.

In April 2016 Cork native Forbes was announced a RTÉ’s new director general – the most important job in Irish media.

Previously, she served as president and managing director of Discovery Networks’ Western Europe division. Her role covered well-known TV brands such as TCM, Cartoon Network and Boomerang.

Before moving to Discovery, she served as senior vice president of Advertising Sales at Turner Broadcasting. She spent several years serving at Turner in a variety of commercial roles.

Prior to Turner, Forbes served as an account director at Media Audits, a media consultancy and began her career at Young and Rubicam Media in Europe. She also holds Bachelor of Arts in history and politics from University College Dublin.
