The company, based in Ontario, plans to create close to 100 jobs over the next five years in a European HQ and security operations centre in Cork.

eSentire Inc. is a leader in continuous advanced threat protection cybersecurity solutions and managed security services.

eSentire Inc. effectively combines people, process and technology to provide its flagship service Active Threat Protection to mid-sized enterprises with advanced cybersecurity capabilities.

The company’s highly skilled security operations centre analysts continuously detect and mitigate threats that traditional security technology can miss, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

eSentire Inc. has grown rapidly, more than tripling its size in the last three years. The company’s greatest challenge is finding talented security forensics analysts, software development and sales professionals to join its expanding team.

Making the announcement Minister Richard Bruton TD said: “Cybersecurity is a specific area which we have targeted as part of our Action Plan for Jobs, and in recent years we have seen an impressive performance in this sector. Today’s announcement that eSentire, a leading company in this area, is establishing a European HQ in Cork and creating 100 extra jobs is another important boost. I wish Mark and the team every success with this project.”

Mark McArdle, CTO eSentire Inc. commented: “We evaluated several locations within Europe to expand our business and establish an EU base to better serve our clients on both sides of the ocean. We were extremely impressed with the technical talent in Cork and the ecosystem the government has helped to develop to fill the skills gap, specifically in the demanding and competitive field of cybersecurity.”
