Law firm Matheson has announced the opening of a new San Francisco office, marking the firm’s third North American office and further enhancing its 21-year presence on the west coast of the US.

The new office is led by Palo Alto partner, Mark O’Sullivan, together with Chris Bollard, who joins the firm on August 1st as a partner in the Technology and Innovation Group.

It is hoped the new San Francisco location will give Matheson’s clients direct access to its dedicated senior team in real-time.

With five partner-led global offices, Matheson act for seven of the ten leading global technology brands and the majority of the world’s Fortune 100 companies.

Matheson was named Irish Tax Firm of the Year 2016 at the International Tax Review European Tax Awards and also won European M&A Tax Deal of the Year 2016 at the same ceremony.

The company also won eight Finance Dublin Deals of the Year 2016. Five of the awards relate to international corporate and financial services sector deals, three relate to Irish financial services sector deals with an international profile and three relate to significant M&A transactions.
