Shauna Greely
President, Chartered Accountants Ireland

Shuna Greely has been elected Chartered Accountants Ireland’s first female president in over 30 years.

Her appointment comes at a time when female participation in the profession has strengthened significantly with the Institute’s most recent student intake showing a 50/50 split.

Commenting on her announcement, Greely said: “40% of our members are women, and we have strong female representation on our Council, Institute Committees, and on our District Societies.

She continued: “I am heartened to see that our student intake level is now approaching parity, but there is still much work to be done. One of my objectives over the coming year will be to help strengthen the diversity of participation in Institute structures.”

Shauna trained in KPMG, Dublin and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995.  She spent a number of years with Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Bank before joining Ulster Bank Group in 1999 and is currently Finance Business Partner with responsibility for projects and strategic cost management.

Eddie Dillon
Director of Innovation, KBC Bank Ireland

Eddie Dillon has been appointed as Director of Innovation at KBC Bank Ireland. Reporting to the CEO, Dillon will establish a new Innovation Hub with responsibility for digital transformation and innovation.

Prior to this appointment, Dillon was Director of Products for the last five years where he had responsibility for product and commercial activities of the retail bank.  During this period, he oversaw the launch and expansion of KBC Ireland into a full service retail bank with a growth in customer base to over 240,000.

A Chartered Accountant, Dillon worked in senior advisory and corporate finance roles prior to joining KBC.  He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Dublin, a Masters in International Accountancy and Finance from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, and an Executive MBA from Vlerick Business School in Belgium.

KBC Bank Ireland CEO, Wim Verbraeken, said: “Eddie’s appointment as Director of Innovation will be central to KBC Ireland¹s growth as a core country for the KBC Group as he develops creative and innovative strategies to enhance our offering to customers.”

Derek Davis
Business Manager, Walker Communications

Derek Davis has been appointed as Business Manager at Walker Communications and will be responsible for Walker Communications’ growth in Ireland.

Davis has over 12 years’ experience in advertising and marketing and started his career with Tipp FM, and after 11 years with the station, formerly as National Key Account Manager, Derek joined the growing team at Walker Communications.

With offices in Dublin and Belfast, Walker Communications employs 30 people.

Charlie Solan
Group Operations Manager, Eurotek Group Holdings

Eurotek Group Holdings, the umbrella company for Eurotek and Avtek Solutions, has appointed Charlie Solan as its Group Operations Manager.

Solan brings a wealth of experience to his new role, particularly in the areas of organisation, team planning and large-scale logistics management.

Before joining Eurotek Group Holdings, Solan was regional logistics manager with Lidl Ireland, where he worked with a team over 100 people, devising and executing strategic plans to stimulate staff performance.

Partners, Arthur Cox

Arthur Cox has appointed three new partners at its Dublin office, adding to the firm’s senior level expertise in the areas of competition and regulated markets, employment law and litigation.

Florence Loric becomes a partner in the Competition and Regulated Markets group. She has extensive experience in advising on the regulation of network industries such as telecoms, energy, aviation and airports and broadcasting and in commercial litigation in regulated markets involving European law and public and administrative law.

She also advises regularly on the application of competition law, including State aid, merger control and issues surrounding dominance and abusive practices.

Michael Twomey becomes a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group. He specialises in commercial and corporate disputes, including financial services litigation, shareholder and contractual disputes, disputes arising from commercial property transactions, landlord and tenant issues, and professional negligence.

Louise O’Byrne becomes a partner in the Employment Law group. She advises on employment law aspects of commercial transactions, compliance and policy, the termination of employment and represents employers in employment disputes such as unfair dismissal and equality claims. She is also a member of the Arthur Cox Health and Safety group.
