Security specialists Netwatch has announced the opening of new office in Chicago, which will create 15 new jobs in the area.

This announcement is the latest development in Netwatch’s commitment – announced late last year – to creating 85 new jobs as they continue to expand, both in Ireland and internationally. This recruitment drive will see Netwatch grow to over 250 employees.

The Carlow company will seek to recruit local Chicago talent in areas such as sales and customer service.

Netwatch has chosen Chicago as their north-western location as it is one of the fastest growing regions in the USA for its transportation and logistics hub, built around Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The new Chicago office will serve as a global excellence centre for the company, focusing mainly on the areas of sales and customer support.

The office will facilitate Netwatch’s international expansion, as well as supporting further job creation in Ireland. 35 Irish positions have already been filled since October 2016, and a further 15 Irish jobs and 10 US jobs will be created in 2017.

David Walsh, CEO, Netwatch, commented: “Last year, we made a commitment to strategic expansion, investment, and innovation in 2017 – both here in Ireland and across the pond in the US. This commitment has already seen 35 jobs created here, and we are delighted to continue international expansion with our new Chicago office. This location will be of huge benefit to our customers, both in Ireland and in the US, and adds 15 further jobs to our already expanding workforce.”
