The Irish airline giant has extended its partnership with the B2B travel technology platform CarTrawler for another two years.

Ryanair Car Hire, which is powered by CarTrawler, was launched in September 2015 and has been used by customers from more than 180 countries with Dublin being the most popular location for car hire, followed by Milan Bergamo, London, Malaga and Porto.

Visits have also increased through mobile technology where handheld-device usage has increased over 200%. Additional ground transport services will also be included in the partnership with further expansions imminent.

Ryanair CMO Kenny Jacobs said: “As part of our ‘Always Getting Better’ programme, we are pleased to extend our exclusive car hire partnership with CarTrawler. Customers in more than 180 different countries have already hired cars using Ryanair Car Hire, powered by CarTrawler, on the Ryanair.com website, and their industry-leading technology and unrivalled inventory ensures the lowest prices for our customers. We are to working closely to expand our offering to include additional ground transfer options, as we continue to offer so much more than just the lowest air fares in Europe.”

CarTrawler CEO, Mike McGrearty said: “For the last two years, the CarTrawler team has been heavily focused on improving performance of Ryanair Car Hire, we are delighted to see this hard work pay off. Innovations such as a complete overhaul of the mobile web platform, and a full integration of CarTrawler technology into the Ryanair app has led to a seamless experience across all devices for Ryanair customers.

“We have seen particular success coming from technical improvements made to our state-of-the-art machine-learning-based product selection, behavioural targeting and mobile/desktop merchandising functionality. We are delighted that Ryanair have chosen to extend their partnership with CarTrawler and we look forward to building on what is already a very successful relationship.”
