William Fry has announced that it plans to recruit an additional 50 staff during 2015.

Over the last 12 months the firm has made 54 new appointments across a number of key areas including corporate, tax, financial services and real estate, bringing the firm’s headcount to 420.

The firm will continue its growth in 2015 and has already recruited 28 trainees who are due to join the William Fry Trainee Programme by September 2015.

Senior appointments during 2014 and January 2015 include tax partners Ted McGrath who joined the firm from KPMG and Shane Wallace who joined from Deloitte, as well as senior corporate partner Eavan Saunders who returned to Dublin from leading international law firm Ashurst. Last year also saw William Fry hire aircraft financing partner David Maughan from Maples and Calder. Other appointments range from partner through to newly-qualified solicitors and reflect the ongoing demand experienced by the firm for specialised legal and tax services.

Commenting on the announcement, Bryan Bourke, managing partner at William Fry, said: “Growth through lateral hires, as well as recruitment from our very talented trainee pool, is an essential part of William Fry’s growth strategy.  We had a very busy 2014 and these appointments, along with our forthcoming move to our new headquarters in Grand Canal, reflect our confidence in the market for 2015 and beyond. William Fry’s continued investment in the best people underlines our commitment to the delivery of excellent results for our clients.”

William Fry’s head office is currently located at Fitzwilton House, Wilton Place, Dublin 2.  The move to 2 Grand Canal Square is expected to take place in early 2015.  The firm also has offices in London, New York and Silicon Valley.
