Brightwater Recruitment has appointed former Irish Rugby star, Gordon D’Arcy, as its Commercial Director.

Brightwater Group Managing Director, Barbara McGrath said D’Arcy’s role would be client-facing and he would play an integral part in building client relations and driving business growth across the island.  Ms McGrath commented:

Gordon combines academic achievement with success at the highest level in sport, having spent 18 years as a professional rugby player for Leinster and Ireland.  His experience of building and maintaining high performance teams focused on delivery will fit perfectly into our plans for the Group in the UK and Ireland.   We believe he has a terrific blend of skills that can be put to great use as we continue to build a best-in-class specialist recruitment consultancy.”

Mr D’Arcy (39) said he was relishing this new professional challenge, stating:

Specialist financial recruitment firm, Marks Sattin, has appointed Matt Fitzpatrick as Executive Director to head up its Irish and International operations.

Matt Fitzpatrick – who returns to Marks Sattin after previously working with the firm in both Australia and Dublin – re-joins with a remit to enhance Dublin operations at the senior and executive level, driving exciting growth plans for Ireland and international markets.

Most recently at Capital Markets, Matt brings 15 years’ recruitment advisory services experience, working in international markets including: Australia, Asia, Europe and USA.

Hazel Whelan MSc, who principally manages recruitment for the pharmaceutical and biopharma sectors, has been made a Company Director, having worked with the agency for the last 19 years.

Lorna Ward, who heads up the Commercial sector has been promoted to Associate Director.

Flan Hassett has been appointed Chief Operating Office of Xpert Professional, Ireland’s largest and fastest growing distributor of professional only haircare and skincare Ranges. Mr Hassett comes to the cosmetics sector after over 12 years with United Drug, most recently as Commercial Director, and previously as Operations Manager.
