11 Partners and 3 ‘Of Counsels’

A&L Goodbody

A&L Goodbody (ALG) has appointed 11 new partners – eight in Dublin and three in Belfast. This is the largest number of partner appointments ALG has made and brings the total number of partners in the firm to 104. The firm has also appointed three lawyers into a newly created role – of counsel – as well as 27 new associates across its Dublin, Belfast and London offices.

The new partners are: Laura Butler (Asset Management & Funds, Dublin), Sam Corbett (Restructuring & Insolvency, Belfast), Andrea Lawler (Commercial & Technology, Dublin), Niamh McMahon (Finance, Dublin), Sarah Murphy (Commercial Dispute Resolution, Dublin), Darran Nangle (Corporate M&A, Dublin), Ciarán Ó Conluain (Commercial Dispute Resolution, Dublin), Sinéad O’Connor (Finance, Dublin), Kerill O’Shaughnessy (Asset Management & Funds, Dublin), David Rowan (Corporate M&A, Belfast) and Mark Stockdale (Corporate & Energy, Belfast).

New senior role – of counsel

ALG has also appointed three people to a newly created of counsel position. Of counsel is a senior lawyer role similar to partner and is widely seen in US and UK corporate law firms. The three new of counsel are: Emma Martin (Insurance, Dublin), Philip McQueston (Tax, Dublin) and Noeleen Meehan (Employment, Dublin).

Rent the Runway has announced the appointment of Dorothy Creaven as Managing Director & Site Lead for Ireland at their new European HQ in Galway.

This appointment comes shortly after Rent the Runway announced the opening of their new technology office in Galway city and the creation of 150 product and software development jobs. This is the US-based company’s first international office.

Bringing extensive experience in scaling enterprise software development teams, Dorothy Creaven joins Rent the Runway with an impressive background in software engineering, which includes being recognised as one of Ireland’s top 25 female engineers in 2017.

Bank of Ireland has appointed David Mountjoy as Director, Origination, on its Corporate Banking team. David joined Bank of Ireland’s Corporate Banking team in 2003 and has served in a range of roles across the Bank’s Global Leveraged Acquisition Finance, Corporate Credit and Corporate Banking Ireland business units.

His new role will focus on supporting existing and new customers to scale and grow their businesses, facilitating a range of transaction structures including management buy-outs and buy-ins, leveraged buy-outs, re-finances and corporate acquisitions.

C&D Foods

ABP’s Pet Food Division, C&D Foods, announced the appointment of Colm Dore as its new Managing Director.

Colm has been employed by ABP in Ireland since 2004. He has held a number of roles in the fresh meat division most recently as a plant General Manager. He is a Chartered Accountant and before joining ABP, he worked as Group Financial Controller for Qualceram Shires PLC, and trained and qualified with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Mason Hayes & Curran has announced the appointment of Brian Johnston as a partner in the firm’s Privacy & Data Security team.
Brian works with companies to find solutions to their privacy and data protection problems. He helps organisations implement global privacy and data transfer programs and launch new,innovative technologies in Europe. Brian also has particular expertise advising companies throughout their engagement with regulators and law enforcement agencies, including helping them to navigate and resolve complex investigations and enforcement action.

Deliveroo, the food delivery app service, has today announced that Michael Healy, formerly Chief Marketing Officer of  FTSE 250-listed The Restaurant Group, has taken over the reins for Deliveroo as General Manager in the Republic of Ireland.
