Last night, Business & Finance released its annual CEO 100 Index with guest of honour Dr Nora Khaldi
The CEO 100 Index 2018 was launched last night at the Shelbourne Hotel to an excellent attendance of CEOs from Ireland’s top companies. Launching the event, Business & Finance publisher Ian Hyland spoke about the high standard of business leaders in Ireland and their impressive achievements across a wide range of sectors before quoting Peter Drucker’s maxim on management and leadership:
Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.
Magnet Networks Ireland, Managing Director Stephen Brewer
Stephen Brewer, Managing Director of Magnet Networks Ireland, then addressed the room. Highly experienced as a CEO, Mr Brewer was keen to pass on his encouragement to CEOs with what he learnt when he worked with John Cleese and the story of Gordon the Guided Missile – to be successful one had to to keep changing course and approach in order to hit the target, saying:
Too many companies set a target and ignore the changing market dynamics and customer preferences and end up missing their target, the EBIT and their bonus!
