GALLERY: 2016 eir Junior Spiders

Croke Park was the setting for the 2016 eir Junior Spiders Awards yesterday, where a host of talented youths displayed innovation in website coding, development and design.

The Awards was established in 2009 with the aim of acknowledge the innovation amongst web creators under the age of 19.

It provides an exciting programme that encourages kids and teenagers to further develop their technology skills in web design and acts as a catalyst for those who wish to pursue a career in this sector by providing access to influential business executives.

This year saw the largest number of entries ever submitted, from over 25 counties across Ireland. The standard of entries was also the highest it has ever been with the majority of the winning sites being hand-coded.
