FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., the global express transportation company, has appointed Karen Reddington as regional president, FedEx Express Europe and CEO of TNT.

Reddington, a 23-year veteran of FedEx Express who most recently served as regional president of the Asia Pacific region, succeeds Bert Nappier, who served as regional president and CEO since June 2018.

In her new role, Reddington will lead more than 50,000 team members across nearly 50 countries. She will continue to drive the regional strategy, including the company’s expansion into e-commerce and continued investment in its road and air networks.

“Karen Reddington is an outstanding executive with a proven leadership record and global experience,” said Don Colleran, president and CEO of FedEx Express. “I have confidence that she will be able to build on the momentum started by Bert Nappier during this pivotal time for FedEx Express in Europe.”

Reddington joined FedEx Express in 1997 as an operations research adviser in Hong Kong. She then rose through the ranks in Asia-Pacific before being appointed regional president in 2015. During that time she led the regional integration of TNT, the launch of expanded services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the FedEx response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Asia-Pacific.

Cornmarket, an insurance brokers specialising in financial services for public sector employees, has appointed Patrick Ryan as Group Managing Director. Ryan commences his role having spent five years as the Director of Cornmarket’s largest business division, its Life and Pensions division. He takes up the role of Managing Director following the retirement of Roddy Murphy, who will continue as Company Chairman.

With 17 years of industry experience and having previously held senior management roles at Cornmarket, Ryan has a track record of delivering growth and business change.

As Managing Director, Ryan will lead the Cornmarket Group in Ireland and the UK as it continues to provide tailored financial support for public sector employees and affinity groups.

Commenting on his appointment, Patrick Ryan, said: “I am delighted to be appointed as Managing Director of Cornmarket. Having worked with Cornmarket in a number of roles, it really is an honour to be tasked with leading the business as we continue to provide bespoke insurance and planning advice for public sector employees and our affinity partners. This will be underpinned by our customer first ethos and our mission to bring financial wellbeing to every customer through expert advice, superior service and tailored products that represent excellent value for money.” 

Patrick Ryan holds a MBA from Trinity College Dublin and is an alumnus of Waterford Institute of Technology.

DataSolutions, the specialist IT distributor, has appointed David Keating as its Group Security Sales Director.

With more than 25 years’ experience in the IT industry, Keating manages the company′s Irish and UK sales teams which are responsible for its wide-ranging portfolio of security and networking technologies. He also works with customers and partners across all aspects of IT security and networking. Using his strong technical background, he collaborates with partners to simplify complex technology solutions that they can deliver to their customer base.

In his role to date, Keating has built up the organisation′s brand new security division and successfully established DataSolutions as the distributor of choice for worldwide, market-leading vendors such as Check Point Software, RSA Security and HPE Aruba.
