Business & Finance highlights notable new appointments at Genomics Medicine Ireland, Tully Rinckey Ireland and Fenergo.

Genomics Medicine Ireland

Genomics Medicine Ireland (GMI)  announced the appointment of Dr. Anne Jones as Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Jones brings to GMI 25 years’ experience working in the life science, chemical analysis and diagnostics arenas in Ireland, the UK and the USA, working across a broad range of markets, products and functions.

A native of Tipperary, Dr. Jones joins GMI from US-based Danaher Corporation, where she was Vice President and General Manager for Pall Corporations Lab, Food & Beverage business. In this role, she had P&L accountability leading a team of up to 800 people for three business units spanning drug discovery research & development through to the food & beverage market.

Prior to that, she was VP Strategy and Business Development at Agilent Technologies. There, she led the strategy development and strategic planning process for the majority of Agilent’s $4bn revenues; led business development and M&A activities for Agilent’s $2.3bn Life Sciences & Applied Markets division; and developed the strategy for Agilent’s successful entry into cell analysis.

Dr. Jones also worked with Amersham Biosciences in the UK and GE Healthcare Life Sciences in the UK and USA in marketing and R&D roles. A graduate of National University of Ireland Galway in Microbiology and Molecular Biology, Dr. Jones completed her PhD at Cancer Research UK, studying protein biochemistry and molecular biology with focus on human DNA repair. During her work there she isolated a critical protein and elucidated its function in DNA repair, publishing this work in the highly-cited journals, Nature and the Journal of Biological Chemistry.

Commenting on her appointment, Dr. Jones said: “GMI is a fantastic company which has achieved significant milestones in its short history, including launching population-wide genomic studies in a number of disease areas as well as building Ireland’s first purpose-built genomic sequencing centre. I am excited to be joining the company as it continues to expand into new research areas. Tully Rinckey Ireland

Tully Rinckey Ireland announced  that Conor Robinson has joined the Dublin office as a Partner, where he will focus his practice on buying and selling businesses, commercial contracts, commercial agency law, trademark law, data protection issues, company law and commercial litigation. Conor acts on behalf of a wide range of clients, including international banks, credit agencies, multinational distributors and manufacturers, as well as Irish-based small and medium sized enterprises.

Prior to joining Tully Rinckey Ireland, Conor was the principal of CB. Robinson & Solicitors, where he focused on innovative, transparent, cost-effective solutions for legal issues of small and medium sized enterprises. Robinson was formerly a commodity trading manager in London as well.

Conor holds an honours degree in Irish Law, and additionally has post-graduate diplomas in both Commercial Litigation and Trademark Law from the Law Society of Ireland. He is a member of the Law Society of Ireland, where he also tutors upcoming solicitors on various aspects of their Business Law course.

Fenergo

Fenergo, the leading provider of Client Lifecycle Management solutions (CLM) and services for financial institutions, has announced its expansion into Private Banking and Wealth Management, with the creation of a new division lead by Steve D’Souza.

The establishment of this new Private Banking and Wealth Management division directly aligns with Fenergo’s market expansion strategy and its objective to deliver value-adding, innovative and proven CLM services to financial institutions. Steve will report directly to Fenergo’s CEO Marc Murphy and will be based in London.

Commenting on his appointment, Steve D’Souza said: “Fenergo has proven its ability to bring CLM technology to the CIB sector and our goal is to extend and enhance our onboarding and unique regulatory capabilities to Private Banking and Wealth Management professionals. These firms are encountering greater competition for customers, and by using Fenergo to streamline their processes and workflows, they can reduce costs and ensure better and faster customer experiences.”

Steve’s 35-year career encompasses roles at Unisys, Odyssey, Parity, Propero and TCA Consulting before setting up Sales Kinetics in 2008. During his time at Sales Kinetics he has worked with over 25 IT firms driving and creating revenue in the UK and Switzerland. His successes include sales into Brewin Dolphin, Quilter, Brooks Macdonald as well as the LGT Group.
