ABEC Inc. today announced plans to expand its global operations at the former FCI facility site in Fermoy, Co. Cork. The new operation will produce engineered process equipment for biopharmaceutical manufacturing and provide a range of service offerings to meet the growing demand from global pharmaceutical and biotech customers.
Once operational, the company will create 100 jobs over the next two years.
The company is to locate in the former 87,000ft2 FCI facility which occupies 13 acres of land on the edge of Fermoy town. Refurbishment works on the facility are underway, as well as recruitment for a range of management, engineering, manufacturing, services, and business development personnel.
ABEC Inc. of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is a privately held company serving the global biopharmaceutical industry. The company is unique in its ability to engineer, manufacture, install, commission, and service the entire biopharmaceutical manufacturing process in an integrated manner.

ABEC’s location in Fermoy followed an extensive national property search which IDA was heavily involved in and happy to assist with. I am delighted that it has culminated in this news today that the company is to set up in Fermoy with the provision of 100 jobs. I wish them every success in the future.”
