Agile Networks, a Dublin-based IT firm, has been named as one of the 100 companies from across Europe as finalists in the 2013/2014 European Business Awards.

The competition was designed to recognise and promote excellence, best practice and innovation in the European business community. One hundred companies, including four Irish companies, have been selected from 375 National Champions in 31 European countries for the Ruban d’Honneur, which qualifies them for the third and final round of the competition.

Agile Networks, which designs, builds and supports complex IT networks for high profile clients including Three, HSE and Digiweb, was selected as one of ten European finalists in the ‘Award for Customer Focus’.

Darragh Richardson, Agile Network’s managing director, will undertake a face-to-face interview with a panel of judges in London on 7th March, led by European business and political leaders, academics and entrepreneurs. The overall category winners will be announced at a Gala Event on 27th May in Athens.

Agile Networks was established in 2011, following a successful management buy-out of Telindus’ Irish operations. In the two years since the MBO, the Blanchardstown-based company has grown its revenues by over 500%, increasing staff by 250%. The company currently supports 50 customers across more than 500 sites, with almost 1 million people now using networks supported by Agile Networks.

“As a medium-sized Irish company, it is a huge achievement to reach the Ruban d’Honneur stage of the European Business Awards, widely recognised as the showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies,” Darragh Richardson said. “We look forward to flying the flag in Europe, representing all Irish businesses in the Customer Focus category in particular.”

The other Irish companies nominated alongside Agile Networks in the European Business Awards are: Airspeed Telecom (RSM Entrepreneur of the Year Category), EPS Group (Millicom Award for Environment & Corporate Sustainability) and the Irish Dairy Board (Import/Export Award).

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards said: “These businesses are shining examples of European business success and our judges were extremely impressed by the very high standard this year.”
