Bitbuzz, one of Ireland’s leading Wi-Fi provider, has launched a new product, Hotel Freetime, for hotels that want to offer Wi-Fi access to casual visitors in the lobby, bar or restaurant.

Hotel Freetime will provide complimentary 20 minute Wi-Fi sessions without the need for a voucher.  The product is designed not only to allow fast and easy Wi-Fi access for customers but it also provides hotels with the ability to communicate with these customers and manage the amount of complimentary Wi-Fi people are using in their premises, which is particularly important in busy hotel lobbies.

In recent years Bitbuzz has seen a growth in demand from visitors to hotel public areas, who wish to use their smartphones to login for very short periods of time to check emails; login to Facebook or Twitter; or send an online message to a friend. Previously these same users would have used laptops in hotel public areas logging-in for longer periods of time, mainly for business requirements.

Hotel Freetime was developed to meet this new type of demand as Bitbuzz, along with many of its hotel clients, see this as a growing trend. The product has already been taken up by the Stillorgan Park Hotel, a longstanding client of Bitbuzz, which has experienced a big demand among visitors to access complimentary Wi-Fi in the bar or lobby without the need for vouchers.

Daragh O’Neill, general manager, Stillorgan Park Hotel: “We are pleased to announce that the Stillorgan Park Hotel is now offering Bitbuzz’s new product, Hotel Freetime. This recognises the need to produce quality Wi-Fi not only to hotel guests but also casual visitors to the hotel. In recent times, there has been an increase in visitors using the hotel lobby and bar for business meetings or a catch-up coffee. We have a long-standing relationship with Bitbuzz, the team understands our growing needs and continue to develop a Wi-Fi model to suit each of our customers’ requirements. We look forward to working with the company as our needs and demands evolve.”

Shane Deasy, managing director, Bitbuzz said: “We are delighted to launch Hotel Freetime, which we believe will be taken up by many of our hotel partners. Smartphone ownership has completely transformed the Irish Wi-Fi landscape; fast efficient internet access is expected at all times and we see no signs of this demand subsiding over the next few years. This new product is adaptable to fit in with any current hotel system, as hotels continue to diversify their offerings we have developed a product that can fit in with any requirement.”
