Business Person of the Month April 2023: Lorna Conn continues to drive Cpl forward

Lorna Conn has been Chief Executive Officer of Cpl since 2021 when she took over from Anne Heraty. At a transitionary period for the recruitment solutions firm, Conn built on Heraty’s success and continues to expand and develop the company. She is our Business Person of the Month April 2023, in association with KPMG.


Business Person of the Month

The Business Person of the Month Award, in association with KPMG, recognises outstanding leaders in Irish business. It especially acknowledges those who have made significant contributions to the business community of Ireland.

Lorna Conn

Lorna Conn joined Cpl plc in October 2017 as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed Deputy CEO in April 2021 and CEO in January 2022.

She previously held senior roles in a number of public companies. Conn is a Chartered Director and placed first in Ireland in her Diploma examination.

She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, having trained with Deloitte. She graduated with first class honours in both the Bachelor of Commerce degree in University College Dublin and the Masters in Accounting in the Michael Smurfit Business School.

Cpl’s development under Conn

Conn was made deputy CEO of the firm during a time of change. The Irish recruitment company was acquired by Tokyo-headquartered company, Outsourcing in January 2021 before Conn took charge of Cpl.

Cpl currently employs 14,000 people in more thatn 50 locations across 13 counties globally. Under Conn’s stewardship, the company acquired Neusta Consulting, a German IT contracting company, in 2022 as Cpl continued to grow.

Conn and the Cpl team have ambitions to continue expanding and recently became tenants at a new office space at One Haddington Buildings, Haddington Road, Dublin 4 to facilitate their development plans.

With Conn at the helm, Ireland’s largest recruitment consultancy firm are aiming to expand overseas and continue to develop the Cpl brand globally.
