CarTrawler, the global online car rental platform, has today announced that it has been placed seventh in the 2013 Deloitte Technology Fast 50, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Ireland.

This marks the fifth consecutive year that CarTrawler has been included in the award listing.

Established in 2004 and headquartered in Dublin, CarTrawler has developed a technology platform which enables it to distribute car rental through multiple routes to market on a global basis for international partners such as Norwegian, Wizz Air, Gulf Air, Finnair, Hawaiian Airlines, WestJet, Virgin Australia, Emirates, flydubai, Air India, South African Airways, Malaysian Airlines and Icelandair.

CarTrawler is one of the country’s leading technology employers recruiting from third and fourth level university courses in Ireland and internationally, as well as from companies such as Google, PayPal, Vodafone and eircom. The company is currently recruiting to fill 23 positions in R&D, partner management, customer operations and supplier relationship management, all of which aim to be filled before Christmas.

CarTrawler’s CEO, Mike McGearty credits CarTrawler employees with the company’s growth over the past five years. He said: “Our growth success to date has been driven by an  exceptionally talented and committed team. This year alone, we have recruited for and filled over 50 high value positions and we plan to recruit a further 100 positions in 2014. What differentiates CarTrawler from other tech companies is that we offer employees a real opportunity to impact on the growth and direction of one of the travel industry’s fastest growing companies.”

The Fast 50 programme, now in its 14th year in Ireland, ranks the fastest growing technology companies in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The average growth rate of the Fast 50 companies named in this year’s ranking is 361%.
