By Business & Finance Minister Richard Bruton TD today announced that ClearStream Technologies Limited, the Enniscorthy-based medical devices manufacturer, has completed a 50,000 sq. ft. extension to its existing facility.
Since its acquisition in 2011 by CR Bard Inc., the US-based medical device manufacturer, ClearStream has added 160 jobs to its workforce, bringing its current headcount to 410 people, with approximately 100 of these jobs being added in the last four months. The completed expansion which is expected to support growth through 2019, will give the company the potential to accommodate up to an additional 200 new positions, based upon need. The expanded facility represents a significant addition to the Medical Technologies cluster in Ireland and adds to the growing Life Sciences cluster in the South East.
The expansion also positions ClearStream to be one of Co. Wexford’s biggest employers and enhances its position as a significant contributor to the local economy in the South East.
Minister Bruton said: “This is a huge boost for Wexford and the South East. In our discussions with CR Bard it has been clear that this is a really ambitious company with big plans for its operations in Enniscorthy and today’s announcement that it will potentially create up to 200 extra jobs here is great news. Medical devices is a key sector of strength for Ireland, and one which we have targeted as part of our Action Plan for Jobs due to the great potential that exists here. I wish CR Bard every success with this operation and look forward to working with them in the future.”

Mythen Construction, the award winning Wexford-based construction company and a top 20 national main contractor, built the new expansion, with 85 temporary construction jobs created in the seven-month long specialist build.
