Origin Enterprises is our Company of the Month December 2022, in association with KPMG. The international agri-services group has reported strong Q1 revenues.

Origin Enterprises, the international agri-services group, has reported strong quarterly revenues, citing a favourable autumn/winter period. Conditions have allowed for firm planting levels that are expected to last all year round.

Planting for oil seed rape has been strong. The expected planted area is up 11.1% to 0.4 million hectares compared to last year.

A trading update encompassing the last three months – its fiscal first quarter – said revenues in the company grew by 57.7% to €716.2m. This is a significant increase from last year’s figure of €454.1m.

Shares in the company have soared in the wake of the announcement.

“Overall, an earlier 2022 harvest, in addition to delivering good yields and high-quality grain, facilitated an early autumn/winter planting season,” the group said.

It continued: “Combined autumn/winter and spring plantings for the 2023 crop production year are expected to be in line with last year at 4.4 million hectares. Digital agricultural services continue to develop the Group’s capabilities in precision farming and digital agronomy.”
