What was your first job?

My first job was working in Quazar in Dundrum bowling alley at the age of 14!

What pushed you to pursue a career in this field?

We pivoted from events to products when the pandemic hit. Our passion is to spread moments of joy and we have done this through events in the past and now taken our experience to create The Home Moment, wellness experiences through scent with our luxury soy candles.

What would you regard as your greatest achievement to date?

We were taken on-board with New Frontiers and Enterprise Ireland only a few months into launching the business, to build the company for the domestic market and prepare for export.

Career wise, would you do anything differently?

I’ve been in music, hospitality, events and business development most of my career, each mistake made was a learning experience to build future businesses, our new company has been founded on kindred passion for experience based products & is building based on connections made in other areas of my career. I don’t think I would change anything, each business is part of the journey.

In one sentence, how would you define success?

Success for me is building a business that has a positive impact on people’s lives, identifying market opportunity and creating a value proposition while retaining ethical sourcing and passion for the brand or product.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Delegate! Micromanagement is counter-productive for growth, trust your team & work with people who bring complementary skill sets to the overall operation.

How do you motivate yourself and your staff?

Our business is based on self care, we take time out of our work schedule to connect back with nature, nights away from the office environment to brainstorm in a positive space. We are three female founders & are constantly checking in with each other to make sure no one is overwhelmed with workload and everyone is well resourced.

How do you handle adversity?

Good communication, listening to all sides of the situation and understanding where both parties are coming from – crisis resolution in my experience comes down to honesty and trust to build relationships.

How do you relax?

Getting back to nature, long walks & mediation & of course a home moment candle lighting in the evening with a good book.

What are your aspirations for the future of the business?

We are working on innovating the wellness aspect of our products through the psychology of scent and the impact it has on mood. We want to be leaders in experience based products that can be enjoyed at home and give our customers a full sensory time to themselves through scent, meditations, nature soundscapes and replanting our seed card to bring nature into their homes.
