Highly skilled engineering jobs are to be created at Dell’s Limerick campus to improve overall sales, as well as customer and partner experience.
Dell today announced that it is creating 100 new innovation technology R&D roles at its Limerick campus. This investment in digital innovation will support the company’s ongoing technology transformation enhancing the end-to-end sales, customer and partner experience.
Today’s investment builds on an announcement in October which saw 60 Dell commerce services roles created at the R&D centre in Dublin, to drive the transformation of Dell’s online platform.
The investment builds on Dell’s commitment to Ireland and highlights the significant role that the operations in Cork, Limerick and Dublin continue to play in Dell’s vision to become a preferred technology solutions provider for customers globally. Recruitment for the new jobs, primarily highly skilled engineering roles, will commence straight away.
Operating in over 170 countries and 28 languages, Dell is one of the largest retailers in the world and is committed to providing a world-class customer experience.
The announcement was welcomed in Limerick today by Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan TD and Minister of State at the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Ged Nash TD.
Minister Noonan said: “The announcement is great news for Limerick. This jobs announcement demonstrates Dell’s commitment to Ireland and its confidence in the highly skilled workers who will apply for these roles. This announcement emphasises the commitment the Government has to job creation in every region in the country and to create full employment by 2018. I wish Dell the very best for the future as they develop their Limerick campus.”
Minister Nash added: “Dell is one of the biggest companies in the world and I really welcome its commitment to Ireland, with more than 2,300 people employed at its campuses here in Limerick, Cork and Dublin. I would like to congratulate Paul and Aongus and all the team at Dell as they continue to innovate and grow.”
