Europcar Ireland has just announced details of two new franchises openings this month in Waterford and Cavan as part of the group’s growing franchise programme.

The Europcar franchise programme is a new departure for the group to further strengthen the core network of ten locations. The business now has operations in Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Kerry, Knock, Athlone, Navan, Galway, Cavan and Waterford.

Colm Menton, CEO of Europcar Ireland said: “We are delighted with the interest in the Europcar franchise network and expect a lot more franchisees to come on board this year.

“The franchise system is win-win for Europcar and the franchise holders alike. The franchisee gets to tap into the Europcar reputation in the industry, as the largest car hire company, garnering support from a dedicated Europcar Franchise manager and a range of support systems. The expansion in our franchise programme widens our geographical reach and strengthens the network.  Expansion also increases our capabilities and allows us to work with business people in local communities, drawing on their local knowledge and reputation.”

He added: “Franchising the Europcar brand across the country is key to the further growth and development of our business. 2013 was a record-year for Europcar Ireland with over 900,000 rental days and an increase in the fleet by over 11%.  We are confident that the franchise programme will build on this growth and further success in 2014.”

Along with its 12 branches, Europcar offers another 16 hubs nationwide that help support its replacement car rental business.
