RunLastMan.com, an Irish start-up which provides an online fundraising platform for clubs and charities across Ireland and the UK, has announced €120,000 in new funding from angel investors in Ireland. Bootstrapped up to now by the founding team, this investment values the two year old company at €1.1m.

The company secured the substantial investment from three private angel investors. The investors were encouraged by the €130,000 which has gone through the site in the past 12 months, which now boasts in excess of 13,000 registered players. In addition, in the past month RunLastMan.com has developed their software so that other brands are now able to white label the product and host and run the games as their own.

RunLastMan.com CEO and founder, Graham Carrick said: “This funding marks a significant milestone for the company. We have come a long way in a very short time since the site launch in November 2013 and this will now enable us to fast track the company’s development, particularly in the UK marketplace with this series round. We have a range of new product ideas which we plan to add to the site and one opportunity we are particularly excited about is that we’re currently partnering with some major media organisations and kit suppliers seeking to run last man standing games through their own websites. This innovation has already led to a huge amount of interest and enquiries since we started pitching it into a number of companies in Ireland and the UK.”

The website grew extensively in 2014 with key developments including obtaining a gambling license which led to the site launching in UK last June, increasing staff numbers to four and building the portfolio of fundraising games, as well as a full redesign of the website.

RunLastMan.com has already attracted over 330 clubs and charities since the UK launch, where the online gambling sector is worth over €3bn and the fundraising space is worth over €60bn. This strategic move will allow the company to position itself as the market leader in sports betting related fundraisers.

The investment raised will go towards increasing their mobile presence with the launch of an IOS app planned later in 2015, hiring additional sales and marketing staff and allocating budget towards marketing spend in the UK.

RunLastMan.com was established in 2013 by the founders Graham Carrick, Daniel Holden and Ronan Ryan. The idea behind the company was to allow club PROs and charity officers to save time and effort in managing fundraisers by hosting them through the site’s fully automated service. Initially the product was based around the popular ‘Last Man Standing’ competitions for the English Premier League. Since launch the company has diversified to include games on rugby, GAA, NFL and golf. The company also hosted a highly successful prediction game for the World Cup in Brazil last summer.
