Builders’ merchants and DIY providers Grafton Group delivered a good performance for the six months ending June 30th 2015.

The company, with operations in the UK, Ireland and Belgium has reported a 7% increase in revenue to £1.08bn and an operating profit increase of 21% to £61.2m.

Operating profit margin also increased to 5.6% from 5% during the period.

Gavin Slark, CEO, commented: “The first half of 2015 has seen the Group deliver a strong performance across key financial metrics as it continues to execute its strategic plans. The overall outlook for Grafton is positive and despite current challenges the Group is well placed to make further progress in the second half towards delivery of its medium term targets of a 7% operating margin and 15% return on capital employed.”

The company made continued progress with its Irish businesses – namely Woodie’s, Ireland’s market leading DIY retailer – with strong profit growth.
