Chopped has announced the creation of 90 new jobs, a mix of full and part-time, as a result of Chopped’s franchise rollout.
Founded in 2012 by Dublin entrepreneurs Brian Lee and Andy Chen, Chopped was developed to meet the needs of the growing number of health conscious Irish consumers.
The news comes with the announcement that Chopped’s first franchise will open at 109 Grafton Street in January.
This outlet, which will employ 10 staff, will be followed by five other Chopped franchises across Dublin in early 2016.
The new franchises will join existing shops in Baggot Street, Ballsbridge and Fairview and St Stephen’s Green. The four outlets currently employ 69 people.

The speed at which Chopped has grown though has been phenomenal. We knew Ireland wanted a healthier option and the fact that so many people approached us looking to franchise Chopped’s really confirmed this. Franchising is the best way to maintain the growth of Chopped and it’s a fantastic endorsement of the Chopped product that we have six franchises on board already. We’re looking forward to creating 90 new Chopped jobs in early 2016 and rest assured that we have big plans for the rest of the year.”
Ciaran Killalea, new franchisee of Chopped at 115 Grafton Street, said: “After careful consideration and exploring a number of options and opportunities we knew that Chopped was the only choice for our location. Working with Brian and the team at Chopped we have devised an offering that will deliver the best, most delicious and healthiest food for anyone who visits our Chopped. We’re really looking forward to opening in January.”
