Every year the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) identifies and celebrates the outstanding work of 25 Irish women whose successes encourage the future generation.

To mark this year’s awards, WXN is hosting a leadership summit (an afternoon of professional learning for members of the network) and an awards dinner during which the winners receive their awards.

Over 650 senior professionals will attend the two events.

Sherri Stevens, CEO, Women’s Executive Network, commented: “This year’s winners are true leaders in their field. It is essential that we keep promoting and celebrating their success because the sad truth remains that progress is still slow. In Ireland, women only comprise 10% of board seats on ISEQ companies and the gender paygap remains at 14.4%.”

She continued: “We are proud to be a part of the continued conversation around the success of professional women. The 2016 Award winners are a testament to the value of women across various different Irish sectors and we congratulate them on their achievements over the last year and looking to the future”.

Winners on this year’s list include: Rose Hynes of the Shannon Group and Origin Enterprises; Breege O’Donoghue of Primark; Dell’s Niamh Townsend; PayPal’s Louise Phelan; Disney’s Una Fox; second secretary general at the Department of Finance, Ann Nolan; RSA Chief, Liz O’Donnell; and data protection commissioner Helen Dixon.
