Ireland’s largest sports retailer, Life Style Sports, will open a flagship store at Belfast’s Victoria Square tomorrow, creating 20 new jobs.

Victoria Square is Belfast’s dominant retail destination and is home to over 70 stores, cafes and restaurants, including House of Fraser, Apple, Topshop and Cruise.

Life Style secured a large unit located in a prime positioning in the centre of the mall and fit-out works are currently underway.

The company is keen to source units of similar size in other key high-footfall locations across Northern Ireland and hope to add up to five new locations to its portfolio across Northern Ireland over the next three years.

Savills confirmed that it will continue to source suitable retail opportunities in Northern Ireland to support Life Style Sports’ expanding portfolio of retail outlets.

Paul Wilson, director of Retail, Savills, commented: “Life Style Sports’ new store will offer a complete range of sports performance and sports fashion clothing and footwear providing a new retail experience for Victoria Square and Belfast’s shoppers.”

He continued: “We have been sourcing a suitable-sized property in the city for some time on behalf of Life Style Sports and are delighted that the landlord of Victoria Square recognised the strength and quality of the unique and premium offering and concept that Life Style provide in this vibrant sector of the retail market, which has underpinned their strong sales and share growth in recent years. This was greatly influenced by Life Style’s flagship store on Grafton Street, Dublin, which CRI took time to visit and experience”
