JCB says global demand is driving the creation of 600 new jobs.

A third of these roles will be available right away and the rest will need to be filled within the next 12 weeks in the firm’s production lines at Rugeley, Rocester, Cheadle, Foston and Derbyshire.

More than 100 jobs are waiting to be filled at JCB‘s headquarters.

The Chief Operating Officer of JCB, Mark Turner, said the vacancies are mostly agency related but the company was looking “long term”. This year alone the firm has put 200 temporary hires on permanent contract.

The new roles, which include welders, paint-sprayers and assemblers, pay a minimum of £10.40 per hour, with a premium for shift work.

Mark Turner said at the announcement: “This is great news for the local economy and great news for anyone seeking to work with a globally successful business.

“We know the cities of Stoke-on-Trent, Derby and surrounding towns have people with the skills we need, and in return they can expect excellent rewards.”

J.C. Bamford Excavators Limited was founded in 1945 and its headquarters is in Rocester, Staffordshire. The company has 22 factories across globe in Asia, Europe, North America and South America. JCB’s products are sold in over 150 countries across the world.
