Kilkenny Chamber announces new chief executive

Chambers Ireland has today announced the appointment of John Hurley as chief executive of Kilkenny Chamber.

John HurleyAs chief executive, Hurley will focus on building the membership base of the Chamber while working in partnership with a range of stakeholders to promote Kilkenny as a great place to do business.

He will also bring a greater focus on members by working with them to enhance the potential of their business and support activities around job creation and sustainment in the area. Another priority is to represent members’ interests directly to the County Council and nationally through Chambers Ireland.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Hurley held a variety of management roles including underwriting, sales and business development in the general insurance industry. In line with his passion for professionalism and service excellence in business he is also a lecturer to financial service industry professionals on a wide range of business modules.

A former chairman of the board of management, KSP N.S. and a chartered toastmaster, Hurley is currently the president of the Rotary Club of Kilkenny. He is a qualified chartered insurer and also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from UL.
