This morning, mobile network Meteor unveiled a suite of 4G mobile broadband data offers exclusively available to third level students, third level staff, primary and second level teachers across Ireland, as part of the three-year partnership it recently announced with HEAnet.

These 4G mobile broadband offers incorporate a range of unique packages tailored to different data usage needs. Students can choose from the flexible 30-day SIM-only offer or six month mobile broadband contracts which include a 4G mobile broadband device.

Meteor students can choose 25GB for just €9.99 or 50GB for €19.99, with the choice of a 4G dongle or mobile WiFi device – in addition to access to Meteor’s superfast 4G network. Over 180,000 students in more than 60 third level universities and colleges will benefit from the mobile broadband packages from Meteor. Over 50,000 teachers and staff in primary, secondary and third level institutions can also avail of the exclusive offer.

Meteor’s head of product, Kealan Donoghue, said: “Meteor will be providing students with competitively priced, reliable mobile broadband offers plus access to Meteor’s 4G network to help them navigate successfully through academic and social life – both key parts of being a student. We’re delighted to introduce these offers and hope we play our part in speeding up study, research and making term time hassle-free for students and staff in HEAnet institutions across Ireland.”

HEAnet chief executive, John Boland said: “At HEAnet we are committed to providing affordable e-infrastructure platforms to support our education and research community. Being a student comes with its financial demands and these Meteor offers represent great value for students and staff with seamless, reliable mobile broadband.”
