Delivery firm Nightline have today announced 20 news jobs and investment of over €2m in a new depot in Dublin’s North City Business Park.
Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Alex White TD, joined Nightline CEO, John Tuohy, in opening the depot and announcing the 20 jobs created as a direct result of the opening.
The new depot is to be used exclusively for Nightline’s Parcel Motel operations and will increase the output of the service to ensure that the Parcel Motel customer base continue to be impressed with the service.
The new 30,000 sq. ft depot will operate at three times the scale of Nightline’s current central Mygan Park depot, due to increased workstations and improved technologies.
Alex White TD said: “This new Dublin depot is great news for both Parcel Motel’s private and business customers. Not only has the new Parcel Motel depot created 20 new jobs, it will also drive competition in the sector and ensure Ireland remains a well-connected and efficient network for private residents and businesses alike. The depot highlights Ireland’s continued emphasis on innovation and efficiency in the communications sector.”
John Tuohy, Nightline CEO, added: “The continued growth in our customer base at Parcel Motel has resulted in Nightline’s exciting new expansion with a new state of the art €2 million Dublin depot and the subsequent creation of 20 jobs in the sector. More than 160,000 individuals have subscribed to the Parcel Motel service and we have handled close to two million parcels on their behalf in the last year. Parcel Motel facilitates the growing demand of online shoppers in Ireland and our continued development and increase in both infrastructure and man power, in order to service these demands, is a testament to the experience our customers have with the service on a daily basis. We have further plans in place to increase capacity to ensure that we continue to meet demand as efficiently as possible.”
