Switcher, an independent price comparison and switching service provider, has today announced the nominees for the Switcher Broadband Awards 2015.

The awards, which began in 2014, will take place next month and represents Ireland’s only industry event designed to specially recognise the best of the Irish home broadband industry over the past 12 months.

The event, which takes place in The Marker Hotel, Dublin, on April 15th, will see the leading providers in the domestic broadband market go head-to-head across 10 categories including: Best Innovation, Fastest Broadband, Best Value and Best Customer Service. The awards ceremony will culminate in the presentation of an overall Best Broadband Provider Award which will recognise the broadband provider in Ireland that has achieved the highest overall customer ratings across all categories.

Selection of award nominees and winners will be based on a combination of results from a national consumer poll, thousands of customer ratings from Switcher.ie and an independent judging panel, comprising of some of Ireland’s leading broadband and consumer technology journalists.

Commenting on the awards, Eoin Clarke, managing director of Switcher, said: “We’re delighted to announce this years nominees and build on the success of last years inaugural event.

“The Switcher Broadband Awards has established itself as the most authoritative customer driven awards for the broadband industry in Ireland, and recognises and rewards those broadband providers setting the standards over the past 12 months.

“The market has never been so competitive, households are now faced with a wider choice of services than ever before. By highlighting the best broadband providers and products, we hope to make it even easier for consumers to make informed buying decisions and help them seek out the right products for their needs.”

UPC leads the charge with a nomination in each category, followed by eircom and Vodafone with seven nominations each and Sky with six.
