The Minister for European Affairs and Data Protection, Dara Murphy TD today announced that OpenText, a global leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM), will expand its Global Customer Support Centre in Cork – with plans to create up to 105 highly skilled roles over the two years.

OpenText’s new operation will provide support for its flagship Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Customer Experience Management (CEM) products for both the EMEA region and global markets. The Cork operation is one of three Global Customer Support Centres for OpenText.

OpenText plans to recruit technical analysts with supporting language skills and senior management roles. Recruitment is underway immediately.

Welcoming the announcement, Minister Murphy said: “I am truly delighted to be here today for OpenText’s announcement. Not only does the expansion of OpenText’s  Global Customer Support Centre create more jobs, it is an endorsement of Cork’s attractiveness for investment by one of the world’s leading technology companies. Partnerships between industry, the Government and IDA Ireland, such as is the case with OpenText, demonstrate that these relationships deliver significant long-term benefits for areas like Cork, the economy, the companies themselves and their customers.”

OpenText SVP of Worldwide Customer Service, James McGourlay said: “We are pleased to be partnering with the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, and the Irish Development Agency, as we open our newest customer support centre in Cork. Cork met all of our requirements for expanding our business in the region: a strong talent pool, a growing technology ecosystem and supportive public partnership. OpenText is committed to being a trusted partner to our customers, and having a local support centre in Cork will bring significant benefits to our European customers as they embrace a Digital-First World.”
