Proton Partners’ Ian Barwick set to moderate distinguished panel at Life Science 50

On July 13th at Science Gallery Dublin, Business & Finance – in association with Cpl – will honour the most innovative companies within the Irish life sciences sector.

Esteemed panellists at the event will include Grainne Quinn, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Perrigo; Robert Cobuzzi Jnr, President of Endo Pharmaceuticals; and Judith Moffett, Director, Life Science, Engineering, Supply Chain & Construction at Cpl.

Ian Barwick is Chief Scientific Officer at Proton Partner International, a company formed by UK-based and international cancer and healthcare specialists.

The company focuses on offering cutting-edge cancer treatments, as well as carrying out extensive research programmes to drive discovery and improve understanding of proton beam therapy in treating cancer.

Barwick is a highly qualified and experienced scientist and commercial manager with extensive experience in the private and public sectors.

Grainne Quinn was named Executive Vice President of Perrigo in July 2016 and has served as Chief Medical Officer since November 2015.

Prior to that she served as Vice President and Head of Global Patient Safety from January 2014 until November 2015.

Dr Quinn was Board certified in internal medicine in 1995 and practised in the United States for several years prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr Robert Cobuzzi Jnr joined Endo in 2005 with initial responsibility as Senior Director and then Vice President of Scientific Evaluation.

In 2008, he was named Acting Head of Corporate Development and was named Senior Vice President in 2010.

Before joining Endo, Dr Cobuzzi was Director, Scientific Licensing at Adolor Corporation, which he joined in 2001. He received his PhD in molecular and cellular biochemistry from Loyola University Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Colby College.

Judith Moffett Director is Director of the Science, Technical Engineering, Supply Chain and Construction Division in Cpl, an award-winning recruitment agency.

Moffett has a background in science, having studied biology and chemistry and Science Communication at DCU and is a committee member of the Alchemist Cafe, Dublin’s Science Cafe.

Ahead of the event, Moffett, commented on Cpl’s involvement with the Life Science 50. “Cpl, as a global provider to the life sciences industry, is delighted to partner with Business & Finance on this event,” she said.
