TenderScout, an online platform that helps SMEs win public sector contracts, won the coveted Grand Prix award at last night’s eir Spiders.

The eir Spiders, one of the most highly anticipated nights in the Irish digital industry, rewards Irish businesses and community organisations for their creativity and innovation and provides an important opportunity to recognise and showcase online excellence.

The Awards are considered an important benchmark for distinction and excellence in web-based business strategies. Previous winners have been on the cutting edge of their chosen fields and have since gone onto great success in their respective industries.

TenderScout was founded in 2010 by chief executive Tony Corrigan and the company is now targetting €35m within five years.

Hassle.com founder Jules Coleman pickied up the Internet Hero award,

Lovin Group picked up an award for Best in News Publishing and Entertainment, while Littlewoods was awarded the Best in eRetail award.

The Dublin Well-Woman Clinic won the Charity/Not For Profit Sector.

Since its establishment in 2012, TenderScout has garnered both national and international praise, and was named one of the 50 most investable ICT companies in Europe in 2014 and received the Business Choice Award at the eircom Spider Awards in December 2013.

Tony Corrigan is founder and CEO of TenderScout and has over 20 years’ experience in IT, having previously worked with leading multinational companies, public sector organisations and SMEs worldwide including Intel.

TenderScout’s main goal is to increase the strength of the SME ecosystem collaboration amongst companies to win tenders over the coming years.

Lisa Kelly, head of Marketing, eir Business and chairperson for the eir Spiders Awards judging panel, said: “eir Business has been spearheading the Spider Awards for decades and we continue to be astounded with the standard and level of entries and this year is no exception,” said “We are delighted to be awarding such innovative and interesting businesses both start-ups and more established businesses.”
