Twitter today announced plans to expand its workforce in Dublin, with the creation of 100 new jobs across multiple business functions including sales, HR, finance and marketing.

The recruitment will double the size of its Dublin office to more than 200 people by the end of next year.

Twitter is also celebrating the opening of its new European HQ premises on Pearse Street, to accommodate the growing number or professionals who will join the Twitter team in Dublin.

Barry O’Leary, CEO IDA Ireland, commented: “ This announcement demonstrates the confidence a global brand such as Twitter has in Ireland. This expansion solidifies Dublin‘s position as Twitter‘s second largest site globally. ”

He added: “Furthermore, this investment underlines Ireland’s continued ability to attract high quality staff to manage and roll-out pan European and international operations. Ireland has always been an attractive location for global leaders and today’s announcement by Twitter further embeds its operations here.”
