In our Ones to Watch section, we highlight some of the top movers and shakers in Ireland. This week we feature Equine MediRecord.
What is it?
Equine MediRecord develops, sells and maintains the first and only mobile application, website and database to allow for the digital recording of veterinary regulatory documentation in the Equine industry.
Who’s behind it?
Pierce Dargan: CEO, third generation race horse owner and breeder. He is a scholarship graduate receiving a MSc in Business and Management with first class honours from Trinity College Dublin (TCD). He also has previous experience in sales with Red Bull and Tilt.com, before it was acquired by
Airbnb.
Simon Hillary : CTO, is a TCD graduate in Computer Science & Business. Simon has worked on multiple projects with the Irish government focused around workflow optimisation through information technology. He has planned, developed and managed the rollout of custom electronic programme guide generation software, custom help desk suite for taking archive request bookings and archive request data analysis.
Finlay Dargan: COO/CFO, graduated in Business, Economics and Social Studies in TCD and obtained a masters in International Business from the HEC Paris. Has has worked in business strategy in KPMG from 2014 to 2018. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
How is it funded?
Funded through LEO Kildare Priming Grant and winning a number of competitions, Number One Draft Pick at the One Zero Conference 2017, Best Overall Startup and Most Innovative Initiative serving the Thoroughbred Industry 2018 and Launchbox, Tangent Student Accelator at Trinity College.
Future plans?
Currently launched in the UK and Ireland, with plans to launch into other export markets within the next three months.
