What is it?

Glue VFX is a video production company creating digital video content using computer-based imagery, 3D and motion graphics. They help businesses to present themselves in the best possible light via online video and consistently deliver high-impact visuals on time and within budget.

The international market for such productions is increasingly expanding, as the corporate sector’s demand for high-end effects in its video content increases. According to Brightcove, “62% of consumers are more likely to have a negative perception of a brand that published a poor quality video.”

Glue creatively and technically push the boundaries of VFX using the best technology, incorporating skills from various industries. They have completed work on various projects for companies such as Lego, Mars and Nestlé, and they bring their clients’ vision to life.

Who’s behind it?

The company was founded in 2013 by managing director Ray Mongey, who has 15 years of experience in various creative industries. The vision was to combine techniques and technologies from computer games, animation and filmmaking to provide the kind of blockbuster effects usually only available from big studios.

There are many reasons why Glue exists today – primarily because video production companies creating corporate and safety training videos need to engage their audiences and make more of an impact to grab their attention.

Mongey keeps everything running, liaises with clients to generate new work and ensures that his staff and clients are all happy.

How is it funded?

Enterprise Ireland kickstarted Glue VFX when Mongey participated in their New Frontiers entrepreneur development programme.

After completing phase two, the company begin to grow and was awarded the Local Enterprise Office Priming Grant to assist the business in taking on its first full-time member of staff.

Glue works closely with PR and production companies in Ireland, the UK and UAE, so they always have a stream of projects coming in. They also contract camera crew and can offer the full package of corporate and marketing videos to their clients.

Future plans?

The company continues to grow at a steady pace and is beginning to expand its reach via online advertising and search engine optimisation to win new clients and as it is a borderless service, the company can produce video for companies worldwide.

They are seeing more and more companies looking to create their online marketing videos and now have a dedicated team looking after these clients.

Corporate videos are the lifeblood of the company and it is also moving into creating VFX work for feature films. Glue have a proven track record and are going from strength to strength – and the Glue VFX brand is becoming a trusted international name for VFX, 3D animation and motion graphics.
