In our Ones to Watch section, we highlight some of the top movers and shakers in Ireland. This week we feature Optimal Workshop.

What is it?

Optimal Workshop provides web-based software for improving the usability and findability of content on the internet. Optimal Workshop customers include thousands of user researchers, information architects, interaction designers, usability consultants, web developers, content managers and experience design teams inside many of the world’s largest organisations.

The company also helps to recruit the right participants to take part in research in order to get the highest standard of results for clients.

Who’s behind it?

The company is headquartered in Wellington, New Zealand and opened an office in Dublin in 2015.

Customer success manager Paddy McShane led the operation to set up an office in the Digital Hub on Thomas Street, having moved back to Ireland after some time working in New Zealand with the company.

Paddy has experience in client management, software and public relations from a previous role in the north of Ireland.

How is it funded?

Optimal Workshop is entirely self-funded.

Future plans?

Having been named ‘Best International Newcomer to Ireland’ at the DOT IE Net Visionary Awards in 2016, the Dublin office of Optimal Workshop plans to get behind the momentum already created and grow in 2017.

As a quality user experience is becoming more and more vital in organisations big and small, Optimal Workshop will continue to assist companies throughout Europe, the Middle East and USA, having furthered its reach by setting up in Ireland.
