This week’s Ones to Watch is sports communication platform, Clubify.

What is it?

Clubify is a communications platform for sports clubs to engage with their members and supporters, grow their brand and simplify fundraising and online payment management. Clubify enables clubs to engage and communicate directly with their members and supporters, free from other distractions. We have proven engagement levels in excess of 20 times that achieved by club communications through Facebook. We ease the burden on club officials by reducing the communication workload by up to 70%, and through our integrated payments infrastructure, we empower clubs to revolutionise fundraising and seamlessly manage membership and subscription payments.

Who’s behind it?

Clubify was founded by Aidan Quilligan and Declan Murphy.

Aidan has been building software applications for over ten years.

He qualified with a degree in engineering from University College Cork and completed a PhD in Trinity College Dublin in 2013.

Declan is a Computer Science graduate from University of Limerick and previously worked as head of tech sales for Tango Telecom who are a leading provider of Data Monetisation Solutions for evolving mobile networks

How is it funded?

Clubify was initially self-funded but we have received investment from NDRC earlier this year.

Winning the Enterprise award for Best Startup hosted by the Clare Local Enterprise Office has provided a further injection of funds.

Future plans?

Product wise we are rolling out version 2 of our Content Delivery Engine as well as a redesign of the app with new features including crowd sourced content. Market wise we researched the UK sports club landscape and identified with contacts for a large number of clubs where we have a campaign underway to start converting these. We will also continue to support our existing trials with sporting organisations and high schools in the US and continue to convert these customers.
