Ones to Watch: Spotlight

By Business & Finance
27 October 2017

In our Ones to Watch section, we highlight some of the top movers and shakers in Ireland. This week we feature Spotlight Whitening.

What is it?

The Spotlight whitening oral care range is an innovative teeth-whitening system. Spotlight Whitening is the first of its kind, offering a safe and affordable solution to whiten teeth from home using the clinically proven ingredient hydrogen peroxide. As practising dentists the founders became frustrated at a lack of safe and affordable options for their patients. Spotlight Whitening first launched on the market in September 2016 with three follow-up products launching in year one: toothpaste, whitening strips and an easy-to-use whitening pen.

Who’s behind it?

Spotlight Whitening was created by two Irish dentists, sisters Dr Lisa and Dr Vanessa Creaven. Both sisters graduated with degrees in dentistry from Trinity College and became certified members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Cosmetic dentistry is a key focus for both sisters, who practice out of the Quay Dental practice in Galway city. Despite the international success of Spotlight Whitening, they continue to practise as their patients are at the heart of everything they do.

How is it funded?

Spotlight Whitening is a 100%-owned Irish company currently being self-financed.

Future plans?

Already in 11 countries and 3,000 retailers worldwide, Spotlight looks set to expand into Asia, Australia and New Zealand in the coming months. Two new innovative whitening products are also set to hit the market in 2018: Lisa and Vanessa say they’re guarantted to change how you think about your smile.
