Q. What was your first job? Proprietary trading desk, Bankers Trust London Q. What would you regard as your greatest achievement to date? Building securities financing businesses in Europe, Middle East and Asia for two banks and putting on the Leinster rugby jersey as a schoolboy. Q. In three words or fewer, how do you define success? Being happy. Q. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? Having confidence instilled in me by my parents when I was young. When I had to make a decision, they would say to me, “Whatever you decide, we will support you.” Q. How do you motivate yourself and your staff? By pitching in to get things done. Q. If you could step into the shoes of one business person for the day, who would it be and why? Having studied and worked in Finance for most of my life, I would have liked to have stepped into Satoshi Nakamoto shoes for an early insight into the dynamics of the new monetary system we are seeing being created today based on blockchain technology. Q. How do you relax? Spending time with family and watching my four boys playing rugby. Q. What’s your motto? Everything happens for a reason whether good or bad. Q. What are your aspirations for the future of your business? To see QPQ become the next generation Digital Financial Network by reducing costs and transactional friction by automating and digitalising the transaction process via proprietary smart legal contracts.
