400 new jobs announced in eight IDA Ireland client companies

An Enda Kenny TD and Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD today announced the creation of 400 new jobs for Cork, Dublin and Galway from eight North American and European based high-growth companies.

The new jobs will be spread across a number of sectors with a range of activities such as software development, telecoms, internet, digital and social media.

Making the announcement, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD said: “I told the Dublin Web Summit that Ireland is one of the most exciting places in the world to build the enterprises of tomorrow and I’m delighted to welcome eight exciting and vibrant companies to Ireland to do just that.  The creation of 400 new jobs by these digital pioneers is fantastic news for Ireland and further adds to our reputation as a location for emerging companies.  The Government’s priority is securing the economic recovery through job creation and continuing to provide a great environment for high-growth companies to expand.”

Commenting on the announcement, Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland said: “Since 2010, over 100 high growth global companies have set up in Ireland with the support of IDA. Their primary aims are to scale and internationalise their operations. Ireland’s reputation as a location for fast-growing businesses to expand into international markets is further cemented by today’s announcement.”
