Barry Napier is the CEO of Cubic Telecom and is Business Person of the Month for November 2022, in association with KPMG. Napier navigated the firm through a difficult period due to the pandemic and has led them to a recent rise in revenue.
Cubic Telecom was established in 2005 and provides connected software solutions to clients. The firm develops solutions for Internet of Things, machine-to-machine and device-manufacturing companies.
Businesses, and in particular car manufacturers, can update mapping and engine software with wireless upgrades that reduces the number of vists paid to dealerships with Cubic’s technology.
Barry Napier took over as CEO of Cubic Telecom in 2008. He oversaw the growth of the company which has received over €110 million in fundng while emloying over 180 staff.
During his tenure, Cubic Telecom has become recognised as a pioneer in the Internet of Things (IoT) industry and in June 2022 surpassed 10 million devices with Cubic’s technology installed. Their technology is now installed on 13 million deivces across more than 190 countries.
Cubic won the IoT Analytics Innovation Award at the IoT Breakthrough Awards in 2021. The company was recognised as a Challenger in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Managed IoT Connectivity Services.
Under Napier’s leadership, the company recorded a 40% rise in revenues to €43.7 million in the year to the end of September in 2022.
Recently filed company documents reportedly show that the firm is thriving after suffering an 18% decline turonver due to COVID-induced lockdowns.
The companies customers include Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Seat, Skoda and Harley Davidson.
