Finalists announced for Spider Awards 2023

The Spider Awards 2023 is set to take place on March 3rd at the Round Room in the Mansion House, Dublin. The event will honour Irish companies and individuals driving digital excellence in all aspects of their work.


Judges and partners

Finalists for the 2023 Spider Awards were decided after a rigorous judging process by a panel of industry experts. There are 124 finalists across 20 categoreis for the Spider Awards 2023.

The judging panel includes Robert Farrell, Maryrose Lyons, Alan Hennessy, Miriam Simon, Alan Devlin, James McCann, Jermain Williams, Naoise Ó Conchubar, Dusty Rhodes, Linda Simon, Alan Mulrooney, Mark Jordan, Dr Yuhui Gao, Paul Walsh and David Monaghan. The partners include DMG Media, The Centre for Excellence in Universal Design, Storyblok, Skillnet Ireland, Onclusive and UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

History of the Spiders

The Spider Awards — dubbed “The Oscars of Ireland’s digital industry” — is the longest running digital awards programme in Ireland. 2022 marked the 25th iteration of the annual awards ceremony with a return to its first in-person event since 2019.

A number of digital luminaries were recognised at last year’s awards including Tribe Digital who won the Large Agency of the Year Award.

Belfast-based Part Three Ltd. were named Small Agency of The Year. Hannah Nelson and Hannor Orr Downey picked up the award on behlaf of the company.

The prestigious Digital Hero Award went to Cork husband and wife duo, Dan and Linda Kiely.

Dan Kiely said, “We are absolutely thrilled to receive the Digital Hero award – it’s an incredible honour for Linda and I to get the recognition for outstanding contribution.”
Linda Kiely added, “We hope that our story inspires others and is proof that Irish companies truly can have global ambitions and impact – and determination in the midst of economic challenges to emerge stronger.”
