Over 200 industry leaders and specialists gathered at the Aviva Stadium for the inaugural DatSci Awards 2016.
The DatSci Awards 2016, spearheaded by Next Generation Recruitment in association with the National Centre for Applied Data Analytics Research (CeADAR), celebrated the wealth of talent in the data science sector in Ireland and highlighted the bright future of data science and its vast relevance to all Irish business.
Some 21 finalists were recognised for their contributions and many of those celebrated are the emerging talent within the data science community, along with progressively thinking organisations and data scientists within Ireland.
At the opening of the event Linda Davis, CEO of Next Generation, said: “Data science is now impacting nearly every aspect of our lives and the cornerstone of these awards is about putting Ireland on the global map as a hub for innovation in cutting-edge technology.”
Edward McDonnell, director of CeADAR, added: “The CeADAR centre is delighted to be part of this great initiative in recognising and celebrating Ireland’s talent in the field of data science. So many companies are centring their global analytics centres of excellence here because of this wealth of talent and expertise, and this event celebrates this bright future for the industry.”
